Strapless Top and Wave-Hem Skirt
A two-piece in ivory satin. The top is strapless and fitted through the torso; at the waist a band of torn silk is gathered into a soft roll — not a belt, a break in the cloth. Below it, the skirt is cut to two lengths: one side falls longer, the other shorter, so the hem moves in waves instead of a straight line.
The top holds. The skirt does the uneven work. Worn together they read as one dress that has been cut at the waist and not lined up again.
